My heart explodes - literally
That’s what happens when I see my family. It’s not poetic. It’s just... a big, silly, overwhelmed explosion inside my chest. I can’t even explain it properly.
I feel ridiculously fortunate. Blessed. Lucky. The kind of lucky that makes you want to rush back home.
Because no matter what chaos the world is throwing at me, I know I have two people. Just two. But my two. People I can count on. People I can go back to. Just being around them gives me peace. Actual, sit-on-the-floor-and-breathe peace.
And I’m grateful. So grateful that they put up with me. Honestly, I wouldn’t put up with me.
But look what’s happening — I’m thriving again. Slowly, but surely.
I smile more. I laugh a lot.
I’ve started reading again.
I’ve started dancing again.
I feel weightless. Like someone has taken over the worrying part for me. Because I feel taken care of. Loved. Every single day.
Now, full disclosure — we are not a picture-perfect family.
The kiddo is nearing his teens. I’m nearing perimenopause. So yeah, this house has MOODS. Hormones are fighting hormones.
And hats off to the one person keeping the peace — my husband.
If you met him outside, you’d think he’s this tough, stern, no-nonsense guy. Very serious. Very corporate.
You should see him at home.
He’s a complete pookie.
He jokes about everything. Flirts non-stop. Makes me laugh till my stomach hurts. Makes sure life never becomes routine. He even plans his entire office calendar around mine just so he can drop me or pick me up. That’s love in Chennai traffic. That’s TRUE love.
And the kiddo — oh, my boy. He’s turning out to be so caring, so sweet, so kind, that sometimes I get scared for him. This world can be hard for soft hearts.
But then I remember — life will teach him to toughen up. And until then, and even after that — we’ve got his back. Always.
So yes, this is just a grateful post. No funda. No lesson.
Just a woman, overwhelmed with happiness, jotting it down before it overflows.
My heart explodes when I see them.
And I hope it keeps exploding like this, for a very, very long time.
